A gathering on November 22 and 23, 2024 for an anniversary conference that shouldn’t be missed!

Article from Parenthèse published on 16 October 2024, in the Annual Conference category.

Are you curious to know what’s in store for this year’s conference? We reveal (almost) everything!

The Fédération des parents conference will bring together members from different regions of the province this November in Richmond!

During this annual meeting, members will have the opportunity to gather, benefit from expert presentations on topics that affect them, share their experiences, and get to know newly elected representatives in person. This is a time when many ideas originate, so members leave with plenty of information for new projects and solutions to their challenges.

What to expect during the weekend of November 22 and 23

  • The evening of November 22 will celebrate the anniversary of the Fédération des parents, which is marking its 45th year. Guest presentations and workshops will be held on themes related to the interests and needs of parent volunteers, in order to equip and support them in their roles. It will also be the ideal time to highlight the contributions and commitment of member parent associations, and the work of educators who have particularly distinguished themselves during the year, by presenting them with, respectively, the Martine Galibois-Barrs Award, and the Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education.
  • November 23 will be dedicated to the annual general meeting of members. Representatives who are delegated by their parents’ association will gather to attend the presentations of the annual reports by the Executive Director and the board of the Fédération des parents, as well as the presentation of next year’s action plan. It’s a great opportunity for delegates to interact with the Fédération’s leadership team. The AGM is also the time of year to elect new members of the board for a two-year term.

This year, the positions up for election are:

  • President
  • Vice-president and Member for the Metro Vancouver Region
  • Member for the Okanagan-Columbia Region
  • Member for the South Vancouver Island Region

Other details, including the agenda, will be communicated soon on the website, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, we invite you, if you haven't already done so, to take a look at the 2023 conference overview video.
