Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education 2022-2023

Each year, the Fédération des parents highlights the exceptional work of an educator who has particularly distinguished themselves by the quality of their work in a child care centre. Nominations are submitted by parents’ associations that are members of the Fédération and run a child care centre.

Despite the difficult choice among the nominations received, the recipient of the 2022-2023 Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education was Karina Vaquero-Oliva, who stood out in several ways.

Karina, an educator at la prématernelle V'là l'bon vent in Vancouver, showed great initiative by putting in place innovative practices in terms of the pedagogical approach put forward. She makes every effort to ensure that the quality of the educational program is constantly enhanced. Her accomplishments include the gradual introduction of new abstract games that invite discovery and the stimulation of senses. Notably, she has provided caring support to children with learning difficulties, and has achieved positive results consistently throughout the year. She ensures that each child is welcomed into a safe environment, and that they feel loved and understood. Highly appreciated by families and the parents’ association, Karina is a role model and deserves the Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education!

2022-2023 Volunteers of the Year Recognition

The work and commitment of parent volunteers was highlighted by the presentation of “Volunteers of the Year 2022-2023” certificates of recognition.

Each year, the Fédération receives nominations of parent volunteers who have greatly contributed to improving the quality of services and activities offered to students throughout the year. Many stood out for their contributions of time, energy, and innovative ideas to set up unifying and promising projects. Some put in place the means to promote better collaboration with the school administration, and others were there to lend a hand to the board members of parents’ associations when necessary.

For all these reasons, the Fédération des parents is pleased to present these certificates of recognition each year to parent volunteers in the community.
