Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education 2020

Article from Parenthèse published on 2 December 2020, in the Annual Conference category.

Every year for the past ten years, the Fédération des parents has presented an award to celebrate the contribution of an educator whose work is particularly appreciated in their community.

Karine Grand Maison, from la Garderie Tartine et Chocolat in Vancouver, won the 2020 version of this prestigious award, which was presented, exceptionally this year, at our virtual AGM on November 21.

A passionate, proactive, and forward-looking person who is very committed to the sustainability of the daycare she runs, Karine is greatly respected by her team, and also by the families – with whom she nurtures a positive relationship, starting right from the time when their young child is registered at the daycare.

An educator for 12 years, she has remarkable creativity and excels at emphasizing the emotional safety of a child within a group, and then instilling in them the pleasure of learning. For example, before the pandemic, children had the pleasure of “getting on an airplane” to “fly” to several countries to discover and benefit from the culture of origin of some of their little classmates and their families.

Warm congratulations to Karine!
