2023 Conference: A Not-To-Be-Missed Event For Francophone Parents In B.C.

The Fédération des parents will bring together delegates from school and preschool parents’ associations at its conference and annual general meeting (AGM) on November 17 and 18 in Richmond!

The annual conference and AGM provide a unique opportunity for parent volunteers from different regions of the province, as well as key partners of the Fédération des parents, to meet, exchange information, and collaborate on various topics of common interest.

These annual meetings take place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, giving all participants the opportunity to network and to create new connections for future collaborations.

It will also be the perfect time, as it is every year, to celebrate the members who have uniquely distinguished themselves by their outstanding contributions during the year. Two prestigious awards, the Parents’ Association of the Year Award and the Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education, will be presented to a B.C. parents’ association and to an educator working in a Francophone preschool centre in B.C.

 

What to expect at the conference on Friday, November 17, starting at 7 p.m.

This will be an opportunity to interact with other B.C. parents, attend presentations, and participate in workshops or discussion groups on themes that will be announced before the conference. These themes are carefully chosen to meet the needs of parent volunteers in order to equip them and support them in their roles within parents’ associations.

 

And what about the AGM on Saturday, November 18, starting at 9:30 a.m.?

Saturday will be dedicated to a presentation by the executive director and the board of the Fédération des parents about its achievements over the past year, as well as its action plan for the next twelve months.

It will also be an opportunity to elect three members who will sit on the board of the Fédération des parents, for the Northern B.C. Region, the Fraser Valley Region, as well as the North Vancouver Island Region. These three board members will be elected for a two-year term.
