Finding a Child Care Centre in British Columbia

If parents want to transmit French to their children and encourage the development of their Francophone culture and identity, it goes without saying that enrolling them in a French-language preschool program would be a wise choice.

Here are some tools and ways to help you find French-language child care.

BC Child Care Map

Provided by the B.C. government, this interactive map lists the province's child care centres (French and English).

To search for services in French, click on Search by services offered, then select French.

To select only the centres that have available spaces, select Search by program type, then click on Only show facilities with vacancies (at the bottom).

BC Child Care Resource & Referral

This resource centre offers lists of child care centres by type and region.

You can visit the website of the Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre to get a list of all the child care centres located in the City of Vancouver.

Annuaire des services en français en C.-B.

This directory is a project of the Fédération des francophones de la Colombie-Britannique (FFCB); it provides contact information for a wide range of French-language services across the province, including child care.

The child care centres are listed under the heading Petite enfance.
