The Fédération des parents will assemble its member associations on November 21 and 22, 2025, for its annual conference, bringing together parent volunteers from across British Columbia. This will be an excellent opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, celebrate with your peers, and to reflect on the challenges and future of Francophone education in the province.
During the conference, parents will take part in an interactive workshop calling upon them to share their experiences of commitment, and inviting them to reflect on the power of collective action and how it can contribute to the development of our schools, child care centres, and Francophone communities. This workshop will be led by Geneviève Issalys, a passionate consultant and trainer recognized for her original approach to supporting collective processes and knowledge flow.
The conference will also be an opportunity to highlight the contributions and commitment of parent volunteers elected within member parents’ associations, as well as the work of educators who have particularly distinguished themselves during the year, by presenting them with, respectively, the Martine Galibois-Barss Award, and the Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education.
The general meeting, which will take place on November 22, will invite parents to participate in a democratic exercise, by voting in the election of members of the board of the Fédération des parents.
This year, five positions are up for election:
- Member for the Northern B.C. Region (2 year term)
- Member for the Fraser Valley Region (2 year term)
- Member for the North Vancouver Island Region (2 year term)
- Member for the Metro Vancouver Region (1 year term)
- Member for the Okanagan-Columbia Region (1 year term)
