Féeli Tout

Literacy at the heart of the educational programming in Francophone child care centres!

A great visitor to Francophone child care centres!

Last July, the province’s Francophone child care centres that were open during the summer had the chance to welcome Féeli Tout, a storytelling fairy from New Brunswick who is a hit with children and adults alike, as part of her provincial tour! Thanks to her storytelling talents and her “drillons magiques,” she captivated the children’s attention and introduced them to the joys of reading.

Féeli Tout met with children in Francophone child care centres in Rossland, Kelowna, Mission, Port Coquitlam, Langley, Vancouver, North Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, and Campbell River, where she was joyfully welcomed. Each centre was treated to a forty-minute performance, during which Féeli Tout distributed her magic powder, opening the door to the magic of books and imagination.

This activity is perfectly aligned with the values of the British Columbia Early Learning Framework, which promotes literacy as one of the four areas of learning in young children. The Féeli Tout tour therefore contributes to promoting the joy of books and enriching educational activities in child care centres through a fun activity that introduces children’s literature to young Francophone ears. One of the educators said: “Féeli Tout was spectacular! It was an unforgettable moment of sharing the wonderful world of books. The children had a great time.”
